1. Are there any preeminent symbols in the story? *if so, what are they and how are they used.
I would say the key is a symbol and everything that follows after it about how there is the complex string of events that you have to go through to get to know the real him and understand who he really is. I'm really bad at picking out what the symbols are of stories.
2. What connection did you make with the story? Discuss the elements of work with which you were able to connect.
I didn't really feel a connection with this story. I have not idea what is really going on I feel like it was just scattered information spread out, I also didn't get a chance to finish the story so maybe it would make more sense if I had. But I think its sad that he feels like he has to live a double life and can't show who he really is. Its also unfair to his girlfriend because he is lying to her and not being honest with her and that is no way have a relationship.
3. What changed would you change to adopt this story into another media? What media would you use? what would you make of it?
I think I would make it into a short film. I see it as the girlfriend reading all these notes or a journal that he left behind. Or her even stumbling upon it, he has no idea that she found it. I see it in black and white, shots switching from her fully body shots, to close ups of her face and hands, to shots of the room around her. It would be a voice over lay so she would be reading in his voice.

One of the fan communities that I belong to is for a boyband called One Direction. Originally the band included four British boys (Harry Styles, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne, and Louis Tomlinson) and one Irish boy (Niall Horan), however recently one of the British members (Zayn Malik) has left leaving only four members in the band. They were formed on the British TV show called the X Factor about five years ago. They all auditioned as solo artists, but Simon Cowell (one of the judges) decided that they would be better as a group. They didn't win the X factor they came in third place, through the power of twitter, youtube and other forms of social media the fans that followed them from the start tweeted made it their mission to have One Direction become one of the biggest bands in the world. One Direction fans (or Directioners) are some of the craziest fans on the planet. I hate being part of this fandom because its such a huge fandom and there are so many rumors and so much drama because the fandom is all teenage girls. We as fandom care about the boys so deeply and act like we know them but we really don't know them. Everyone thinks that they know the boys better then the rest of the fans which makes it sort of nuts sometimes. The fandom is known for starting rumors such as two of the members being together (Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson) aka Larry. These fans are known as Larry shippers, and they have crazing theories about them being together and if they even look at each other on stage the fans freakout. I have a love hate relationship with this fandom, I try not really get to involved with the craziness I try mostly to observe. They boys have become such a important part of my life as silly as that may sound. I tend to talk about them like I know them and they are something that I can't go a day without talking about. If it wasn't for these boys I won't have made some of the friendships I have today and these are friendships that I know will last me a lifetime. Just like my support for these four idiots who spit water, who pants each other on stage all while managing to sing will last a lifetime. Urban Dictionary says a Directioner is "Someone who stands by the band One Direction no matter what. Who would be there to support the boys 100%. Whether it's acting, singing, dancing, anything... they'll be there for it all. Even when the band grows up and goes on with their lives, these girls that call themselves "directioners" will NEVER forget the happiness and the joy that Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Liam Payne, Louis Tomlinson, and Zayn Malik brought to them for so many years!"

I have been playing I Saw Her Standing There But She was a Zombie and its pretty easy to say that I got addicted. It reminds me of like classic video games like pac-man or snake. They are simple characters which works for the purpose of the game. The purpose of the game is to get the girl zombie into the cage and not get eaten by the other zombies or her along the way. I like that you have unlimited amount of lives because that would have been the biggest pain to start over every I died or only have three lives. Its simple and good to give your mind a break, but also challenging I'm currently stuck on a level that I haven't been able to beat. Its just a fun mindless game that is meant for relaxing or goofing off.
I think it important to be aware of anime/manga culture and style. I wasn't really big fan of the anime we watched in class. I do understand the why its important because I remember growing up with shows like Sailor Moon, and Pokemon. It was interesting looking at those different shows last class because a few of them were clearly not meant for children. I find it quite interesting why some anime is automatically assumed for kids in the states and I think that is something that needs to be reconsidered. Like any other art form I think people should learn about anime, if the artist finds it interesting. It is important for artist to learn and study all different forms of art, I feel like with anime if you have seem one you basically have seen them all. I think they are predictable and a little cheesy. I recently rewatched some Sailor Moon episodes, which was one of my favorite TV shows when I was younger, but after watching a few episodes here and there I found her character annoying and whiny and from the ones we watched in class they at least had one character like that. I think one class was enough to show people what anime and manga whats it all about because it wasn't something I really thought about in a while. I think by having that class it aloud people to watch something and discuss something they normally wouldn't talk about.

Before this week I hadn't really read much comics. When I was in middle school I used to read some of the Archie comics or the comics in the sunday paper. They were always something asa I viewed as entertaining and funny. I haven't really read much comics although throughout the years because of the movies that have come out I have grown to love superheroes. Lately trying to figure out what I'd like to do with my art I have been looking more and more at comic books and different styles and artists. I read Ducks, by Kate Beaton and I thought the style was really simple but cute and obviously its in process but I found it really interesting and looking forward to seeing the outcome of the story. The other comic I read during break was a little bit of She-Hulk I liked were it was going and I would like to continue reading more of it outside of class. I like how they did the twist on Hulk as a character, she is smart, brave and isn't afraid to say whats on her mind. Having her have the qualities is showing that our society is growing and evolving and allowing girls to save the day is big thing. I believe She-Hulk is a step in the right direction for woman empowerment. Besides all of that the artwork is beautiful. I admire the limited color in each frame its effective and readable instantly.

Its easy to say that Disney was the main reason why I started to admire film. Its because of Disney I learned and started to appreciate art. Growing I went to Disneyland often as well as watching all the Disney classics. The first film I ever saw in a movie theater was The Little Mermaid, it quickly became one of my favorites. Ariel was a princess and a character that I related to and admired at a young age. I was even her for Halloween once or twice. As much as I love and adore Ariel, she is very similar to other Disney princesses. I believe there is only one Disney princess movie that doesn't have singing it in would be Disney/Pixar's Brave. The classics (Snow White, Sleeping Beauty and Cinderella) all have to do with the prince and their journey to find him or find love. In these classics as well as The Little Mermaid, Aladdin, and even a more modern one Tangled. They are all are save by the prince. There are a select few that have branched away from the stereotypical fairytale like Mulan, Frozen, and once again Brave. Yes, most of those movies have a common theme, because they are so similar and a lot of the princess look a like, such as big eyes, small nose, big hair and unnatural body proportion it gives girls at a young age the wrong idea on how woman are supposed to look. There isn't much of a difference between Tangled's princess Rapunzel and Frozen's princesses Anna and Elsa. All three of them have the same "make up" and build up. Of course there are some negatives to these movies, but there are also so positives. I believe the positives out way the negatives these movies are just to entertain, but to empire us to view the world differently. For example, something I learned from Ariel is to follow your heart, and be ready for the consequences that may follow after your actions. There all all these hidden life messages through Disney's movies why might just have to look hard to find out the lesion is really.

Views on Hipster
I am not a hipster. According to Merriam Webster Dictionary, it defines hipster as "a person who fallows the latest styles, fashion ect." aka a hip person. The second definition of hipster states "a person who is unusually aware of and interested in new and unconventional patterns". A hipster is normal a person who doesn't follow normal trends or anything to mainstream. They listen to indie and alternative music. A hipster wouldn't describe themselves as one, they life differently and try to say away from anything to current. In todays world the word hipster has been thrown around a lot, everyone knows what a hipster is and it has become a trend that has taken over the past couple of years. One of the qualifications of a hipster is that they aren't the type of people to listen to top 40 with Ryan Seacrest, they tend to lean towards alterinvate music and jazz music. The term hipster first appeared during the jazz age (1940s) and it described someone who enjoyed jazz. While I listened to Charles Mingus's performances in Norway and Sweden (1964), I became engrossed with the music. It isn't the type of music I would normally listen to, but it is very appealing and almost relaxing. The music makes me feel connected to the past and even though there aren't any words I feel like the music is speaking to me. It no wonder why this type of music had started a movement. The poem Don't Let that Horse… by Lawrence Ferlinghetti is confusing. I feel like I'm missing something important and I'm not seeing the hidden message, but I'm sure if one was more into poetry were to anialize it they would understand it better. Like I said I am not a hipster, that being said the poem People Getting Divorced also by Lawrence Ferlingthetti is powerful. I didn't have to read it a few times to get the point. Its something that people can relate to. When I think of this type of poetry I think of the Beats in San Francisco and what was creates there because of what was going on at the time and the people joining together and create a movement. It is a similar idea with the word hipster. Hipsters have come and gone and now they are back and showing people there is a different way to view and live life rather then what is the "norm". I enjoy learning how our society is constantly changing and creating new ways so view the world around us.

How are we the viewer or reader or player connected to the world?
Right from the beginning the writer of Colorless Tsukuru Tazaki and His Years of Pilgrimage, Haruki Murakami was able to throw us into the world. The first sentence of the book talks about how the main character Tsukuru wanted to die. It draws us as viewers in, we become curious into why the character wants that and how he had gotten to that point in his life. Its not only the way Murakami draws us in but its how he keeps ups invested and interested in the story. His style of write has a nice flow to it and also us as readers to enjoy and relax while we read. Even though the story does a lot of hopping back and forth from the past to the present it seems natural and aloud us as viewers to slowly begin to understand Tsukuru as a person. By going back and forth between past and present we as viewers are being thrown into Tsukuru’s issues and problems. His issues are something that a lot of people, including myself can relate to. It shows us different ways of how to handle similar situations. Since Tsukuru is the only person to have gone through losing friends and it has happened to us as viewers from personal experiences we believe it. We buy that this world that he lives in is possible. Its not just the events that happen to Tsukuru that make his world believable it is also the small details that are written in the story. Its as easy as describing the location Tsukuru is located or having a conversation be interrupted but a waitress. These place and things like getting interrupted by a waitress are things that we as readers have all experienced therefore we are able to believe that this world that Tsukuru exists.
